Did you know a 50% pension sharing order almost never produces a 50/50 split of benefits to the two parties? Usually the pension credit member, often the wife, loses out.
Bradshaw Dixon Moore produce actuarial reports showing the amount to be shared under a pension sharing order. The reports meet full Court expert witness requirements and start from £550+VAT. Reports are most useful when:
| • there are one or more final salary pensions or pensions in payment |
| • the health of either party is worse than average for their age |
| • the target is other than a 50/50 split by capital value |
| | We can target the following objectives for the pension share:
| • equalise income |
• equalise capital values |
| • produce a set benefit level for one party |
• produce a set difference in benefit levels |
| The latter can be used when combining offsetting and pension sharing. |
| | Our pension sharing reports:
| • are easy to read |
• do not confuse with lots of different values |
| • show any potential loss of value due to sharing |
• show any extra risk due to the sharing |
| • show offset values as an option to sharing |
• are easy to instruct |
